Coping with an illness can affect you both physically and psychologically. People diagnosed with an illness can have all kinds of emotions. Depression can set in and you can become imprisoned with guilt of not taking better care of yourself. You can go into denial and isolate yourself from family and friends. Having an illness can change your life in so many ways. You must take control and stay positive. Positive thoughts about how you can overcome the illness are critical. Your body will respond to positive feelings. There have been studies done on the Placebo Effect in treatment. People have been treated with a placebo. ( a sugar pill).
It has reduced pain, and shown an improvement in ones health. If a sugar pill can have this effect on people, then surely, we can take steps to improve our own health with positive thoughts.
A cloud can seem to cover us with self-pity and loneliness. Making you want to climb into a cocoon and let time past by. The best route is to know that sunny days are ahead and you are in charge.
