The Teen Challenge International addiction recovery organization located in the 1400 block of North Front Street in Harrisburg is closing thanks to the tough economy. The 18-man shelter is a “faith-based solution for the drug epidemic” and has been around since 1970.
Donations to the organization are down 20 percent, according to Executive Director Donald Koch.
The organization provided a 14-month recovery program and has affected the lives of people in a positive way.
The program helped Larry Daughenbaugh, the intake coordinator to overcome a 30 year addiction to painkillers.
The new office for the organization will open at 6th and Seneca streets in the coming weeks.

This is terrible news! So sad that organizations that do so much can't stay open to help those in need.
