Robert Roffman, combining hypnosis with massage for chronic pain and rehabilitation

Robert Roffman, The Healing Warrior

About Robert Roffman, The Healing Warrior
I made an unconventional transition from an Army Military Policeman to a Massage Therapist. After a successful career that encompassed military service, law enforcement and the criminal justice system, I became a Reiki Master, Massage Therapist and a Hypnotist. My life experiences gave me the opportunity to learn how to heal myself. My life nearly ended with a motorcycle accident. As I lay on the pavement temporarily paralyzed below the waist, I knew my life would never be the same. Yet, that struggle opened my heart with understanding for the suffering of others.

Q: Why did you decide to pursue hypnosis?
A:
I believe in the Mind, Body and Soul connection, as I personally sought alternatives to many traditional treatments. I look beyond the physical symptoms in individuals by looking at their lifestyle, which may be contributing to the current crisis. I have found that by empowering people via hypnosis they can participate in their treatment at a significantly deeper level.

Q: What training/experience do you have?
A:
I was trained and received my certification from the Thomas Institute of Hypnosis in New Hampshire. I am a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. I also have a Graduate Degree in Criminology and Counseling Psychology. I continually take continuing education classes. Also, I am Nationally Certified by the National Certified Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and I hold Massage licenses in NC & NH.

Q: What sets you apart as a wellness provider from others?
A:
Having suffered injuries in my prior career, I am very familiar with chronic pain and how debilitating it can be. I have personally experienced every modality that I now work in. My personal life experiences bring a deeper understanding to my client’s issues, which make for a powerful session!

Q: What’s the most common question you get asked?
A:
One question that comes up is “How can massage benefit me?” Massage can increase circulation, stimulate the lymph system, relax and soften injured and overused muscles, reduce spasms and cramping and even increase joint flexibility. For massage FAQ’s, click here.

In regards to Hypnosis, I usually address some very common myths. People fear that being hypnotized will make them lose control, surrender their will, and result in their being dominated. But a hypnotic state is not the same thing as weakness. Many people base their assumptions on stage acts. in truth, most people remember everything that occurs in hypnosis and the patient is never under the control of the hypnotist. Q: Is there anything else that you would want people to know about you, massage therapy or hypnosis?
A:
People should feel comfortable to contact me with any questions that I have not addressed here or on my website. I am happy to respond to e-mail or schedule a quick phone call, time permitting.

I have worked with Robert Roffman and to say he is one of the best in his field would be an understatement. His past experience and knowledge set allow him to take care of clients holistically and explore what is truly causing their problems. I would recommend him to anyone looking to improve their health and reduce symptoms they may be experiencing.
