Brooks Haislip, Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor
Anusara Yoga celebrates the light and perfection in the heart of each student – beginner and advanced alike through a curriculum of 250 poses. Founded in 1997 by John Friend, Anusara yoga has become one of the highest respected forms of hatha yoga. So, what does Anusara mean? It means ‘flowing with grace, flowing with nature and following your heart.’ Across the world, there are only 250 certified teachers and 750 licensed Anusara-inspired teachers. Brooks Haislip, certified instructor, is a hidden jewel right here in Charlotte, but you’ll know immediately when you’ve met her because of her infectious heart-centered energy. Each instructor adheres to specific ethical guidelines in order to keep their certification.
During an Anusara Yoga class, you will not be focused upon mastering a pose and you will not be fixed or corrected in any pose that you hold. Instead, your focus is asked to shift upon the highest intention of expression and goodness within you. Believing in the innate ability within you to allow your poses to follow in a creative, playful and intentional way. Off the mat, these principles of higher awareness, goodness and equality are silently spread to your personal community through your own expression of life.
In Charlotte, we have a rare find in an Anusara Certified Yoga Instructor, as there are only three in the immediate Charlotte area. Her name is Brooks Haislip and she teaches classes at Sangati Yoga as well as private lessons in her own studio. Her gentle spirit and energetic instruction will inspire you to see the best qualities in your own practice. Explore your own personal strengths, inner wisdom and spiritual guidance from Anusara yoga.
