Taco Bell has had a lower-calorie Fresco menu for awhile now, but is touting it for the new year with a Taco Bell Drive-Thru Diet.
And for a limited time, Taco Bell is giving away a free Fresco taco with a coupon HERE.
The "diet" is similar to Jared Fogle's Subway diet. Taco Bell's dieter, Christine Dougherty, says she lost over 50 pounds by ordering items off Taco Bell's Fresco menu, which leaves off sour cream, cheese, guacamole and other high-fat, high-calorie goodies on its burritos and tacos.
Taco Bell's Fresco menu reduces the calories 20 to 100 calories per item compared to corresponding products on its regular menu. Here's the rundown:
- Fresco Burrito Supreme 340 calories, 8 grams fat
- Fresco Grilled Steak Soft Taco 160 calories, 4.5 grams fat
- Fresco Soft Taco 180 calories, 7 grams fat
- Fresco Burrito Supreme Steak 330 calories, 8 grams fat
- Fresco Crunchy taco 150 calories, 7 grams fat
- Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco 170 calories, 4 grams fat
- Fresco Bean Burrito 340 calories, 8 grams fat

I thought the commercial was a joke when I first saw it but then I realized it was legit. It's a great idea actually, now that I look at the menu. When you are busy or running errands it's nice to have a healthy, quick option you can eat on the go.
I'm a big fan of the Fresco Chicken Soft Taco
Enough already. If you look closely at Christine Dougherty, she looks emaciated - In my opinion, she appears to have lost too much muscle secondary to her Taco Bell Low-Calorie diet. This is another example of what not to do. Change your focus from losing weight to becoming healthy and fit, and please, stay away from fast food regardless if they are lower in calories or not. The overwhelming majority of fast foods are loaded with unhealthy ingredients. Dr. Sardone, author of The Naked Truth: Overweight, Overwhelmed and Confused www.drsardone.com
Actually they taste good- but this free coupon with insufficient privilege to print is BS.
I had a problem printing the coupon with Firefox. I switched to Internet Explorer and it worked fine.
