So what's in your free Denny's Grand Slam breakfast for Tuesday?

If you haven't heard, Denny's is giving everyone in America a free Grand Slam breakfast on Tuesday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

So how does it stack up nutritionally? Denny's Original Grand Slam breakfast (2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, 2 slices of bacon) has a rib-sticking 795 calories, 50 grams of fat (14 of that sat fat), 65 grams carbs, 34 grams protein and a teeny little 2 grams of fiber (eat the placemat).

I think the item at right is a more advanced Slam, since there is hash browns and what appears to be ham of some sort. Because 795 calories is just not enough.

I'm not making any kind of judgment -- I'm just letting you know what you're getting yourself into on Tuesday.

(Oh, who am I kidding? Of course I'm judging!)

Look, I have been on Nutrisystem and maintenance for 2yrs. I lost 40lbs and still have kept off almost 30 of that . One day of a nice free brkfst in this troubled economy is a mental health meal! Have fun!

WOW! Thanks for the info - just started my weight loss program and I was ready to go enjoy my freebie when I saw your post. Was a slap in the face but much needed ... saving a few bucks is definitely NOT worth my sabatoging my diet! Thanks

We all know it's free food, genius. That doesn't make it any less disgusting.

I would not call that heart attack on a plate a 'nice free breakfast'. Denny's is doing this as a publicity stunt and for any money made off of extras (a lot of people will get hash browns and ham on the side) under the guise of offering a recession special.

Oatmeal and fruit at home for me. It's cheaper than the gas to drive to Denny's.

My boyfriend is taking me to go get one today. I started my diet recently and lost 10 lbs. the way i look at it is, if you eat healthy all your other meals and work out it won't be as bad, plus who eats THE WHOLE PLATE? not me.

If you eat a Denny's Grand Slam every so often it's not going to kill you.
Psh, I'm 19, I'm not going to have a heart attack just because I have one bad day.

Just had one this morning, its free, ate it 5 hours ago and Im still stuffed, prob wont eat for awhile, so if you count you calories, i stay at around 2000, then just balance it out, I'll only eat another 1100 cals today, and wont gain an ounce. Could have made this at home though, but it is free

Hope everyone enjoyed a hot breakfast today! As an operator of a Orlando location, it's nice to see the positive comments. Thank you! Food is a personal and emotional choice to most of us, and every once in a while a traditional american breakast is a nice treat. If you're counting calories request "egg beaters", we offer them... Or maybe a fruit cup... Thanks to all who came out today! Those who didn't make it, maybe your local Dennys can ofer you a grilled chicken salad with fat-free dressing accompanied by a Coke Zero...
