Jillian Michaels introducing new weight-loss supplements line

Jillian Michaels NBC The Biggest Loser

Jillian Michaels tweeted the news of this today: She's coming out with a new line of weight-loss supplements. Here's a quote from the press release:

"For quite some time I had been personally searching to develop the right natural products to help people achieve their weight-loss goals. I always emphasize the importance of integrating fitness, nutrition, and changes of behavior in order to empower individuals to reach both their physical and psychological goals. Finally, my new line developed the right products to not only support myself but for others in their journey."

The Jillian Michaels line will feature Maximum Strength Calorie Control, Maximum Strength Fat Burner, Triple Process Total Body Detox & Cleanse Plus Probiotic Replenishment and the QuickStart Rapid Weight Loss System, which contains both the Fat Burner and the Calorie Control as a package deal.

I haven't seen what the ingredients will be in these supplements, but it's a little surprising that  she's coming out with a line of weight-loss supplements since the whole theme of The Biggest Loser is losing weight through diet and exercise. Michaels has talked before about the use of caffeine and aspirin to boost metabolism and increase workout performance, so it's not like she's completely against the use of supplements. It'll be interesting to see what comprises the supplements, which will be available this fall in chain drugstores and grocery stores as well as Target and Walmart.

I am only slightly surprised because she mentioned it on her radio show recently. I don't need the weight loss supplements, but would love it if she would come out with healthy vitamins instead....that is what I have been looking for an unable to find as of yet.

I adore Jillian and her workouts, her books, her show and wish that she or her crazy trainer Steve could train me for a day or two!!

I was more inclined to take her advice when it was offered for free, not in promotion of products. The "Jillian Empire" is starting to be a real turn-off for me.

I used to admire Jillian's no BS approach to weight loss and health: calories in, calories out. She used to blast "cleanses" & now she's making one. It's all about the dollar. She is taking advantage of the very thing she preached against: the fast fix. Very disappointing.

I agree with justiceleague - I've heard her say the same exact thing about cleanses and short cuts. That's not the only thing she's changed her tune about in the last couple of years. I think she's sold out.

I think Jillian knows what she's doing but how can she promote a product that she doesn't even know the ingredients yet? The price seems way out there to me...a 7 day free trial isn't even enought time to possibly see any results...

The person who wrote this article is the one who said "I haven't seen what the ingredients will be in these supplements, but it's a little surprising that she's coming out with a line of weight-loss supplements...."

Of course Jillian knows whats in these supplements. I heard her talk about these recently on her radio show. She knows what she is doing and has partnered up with a team of experts to help her with this. I don't think she is selling out or trying to make more money though. Its not about that, I think her intentions are good. And just for the record, she is against cleanses...which require not eating! You need to eat!

The detox/cleanse main ingredient is magnesium oxide which is a laxative. The "fat burners" are primarily caffeine, yerba mate, coffee bean, xanthine blend i.e. stimulants. Jillian always recommended caffeine aspirin stacks but the detox product is puzzling...

I recently bought these products. I have tried every weight Loss Supplement. I used to do the products that had ephedra in them and they didn't bother me the way Jillian's product does. I feel sick to my stomach and not myself. I love Jillian and the Biggest Loser, but I did not care for these products. I will be taking them back to the store.

For those blasting Jillian because she doesnt' know the ingredients, if you read the article correctly it was the other making that statement!!!

Shaklee has the best line of vitamins. I've been on & off taking vitamins for over 30 years and either felt crappy from them or didn't feel any better. Some where like rocks in my gut. I started taking Shaklee 5 years ago. I noticed a difference within days (energy was #1 from the B-complex) and I will never change. Friends take them, they try something else and always turn back to Shaklee. VitaLea is their multivitamin. You'll love'em Advntrgrl.
