The ABC dancing competition now has four workout DVDs under the Dancing With the Stars banner, and the two latest are Dance Body Tone and Dance Off the Pounds. (Latin Cardio Dance and Cardio Dance came out awhile back so we'll focus on the two new ones.)
In Dance Off the Pounds, you'll dance along with Dmitry, Lacey and Kym (we're all on a first-name basis now, aren't we?) to swing, jive and quickstep in three separate 15-minute workouts, plus a 5-minute dance-inspired cooldown. The swing segment includes East Coast and West Coast swing (no gang warfare here), plus the Lindy Hop. The jive segment uses the English Jive and its loads of kicking for kickin' glutes. The quickstep uses all the previous moves in a high-energy combo.
In Dance Body Tone, it's Dmitry, Lacey and Kym again to show you the Latin moves in the Latin and Tango 15-minute workouts and a 15-minute freestyle workout, plus a 5-minute rumba cooldown, so this DVD has more of a Latin feel if that floats your boat. You'll learn mambo, cha-cha, merengue and rumba moves as well as the more challenging tango.
All the Dancing With the Stars workouts are great for beginners as well as more advanced exercisers. They're low impact for the most part, and you'll laugh at yourself so much (if you're not a twinkletoes) you won't realize you just worked out. The cueing is good and the dancers are easy to follow, but for best results try and do these on a hard surface instead of carpet so your feet can slide around easier.

Comments
Gail,
Have you done any of these workouts? I always like to hear from a "real person" as to the review of the exercise video, rather than rely on reviews from elsewhere.
Yes, I've done them and they're a lot of fun and a pretty decent workout.
