The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps: 100 Easy Changes to Start Living a Healthier Lifestyle, $21.99, Rodale
Latest in the line of Biggest Loser books, Simple Swaps offers, as the subtitle says, 100 easy changes. What are some of them?
- Eat an orange instead of drinking its juice (added fiber)
- Use extra-thick Greek yogurt instead of regular (twice the protein)
- Swap celery and carrots for bell peppers (more vitamins)
- Swap breakfast carbs for breakfast protein ('nuff said).
The book is by Cheryl Forberg, RD, the nutritionist for The Biggest Loser and co-creator of the show's eating plan. (HERE'S a previous Q&A we did with her; look for a new one very soon.)
Interspersed with the great swap outs are recipes from the ranch, including great sounding dishes like Roasted Tamale Chili, Golden Flaxjacks and Smoked Salmon Spread.
Readers can also catch up with past season contestants, including Heba and Ed (season 6), "Big Hair" Ken (season 3), and season 6 winner Michelle Aguilar.
As a bonus, there are budget-friendly tips to eat healthier for less money.
