You heard right, wear sneakers on your wedding day. I know that is hard to get over, and traditionally brides squeeze their toes into the most beautiful slippers which are only disguised torture devices. Now, Claudia Lindenberger of The Lovely Bride is showing us how to rewrite the rules to being a fairy princess with her wedding sneakers.
Lindenberger was married in October of 2008, but before her wedding, she searched all over the internet and in specialty shops where she lives for wedding sneakers. This wise woman knew that no one was going to look under her dress at her footwear, but that these specifically designed shoes would give her the boost she wanted for her wedding day and would allow her to dance, walk, and stay on her feet all day. The problem was, they were nowhere to be found. To find a pair, she had to recruit her sister to bring a pair up from Mexico.
The reasons why different brides choose to wear wedding sneakers vary from bride to bride, but most say that these shoes are cute, fun, and comfortable. Add to that the wide platform bottoms for stability, and they will not sink on grass, sand, snow, and other soft surfaces like regular heels can and these shoes sound almost like a dream come true. The additional stability and comfort from these shoes can keep you dancing longer than ever. Now add to that, these shoes are available either plain or with beautiful embroidery on them for that extra feminine touch.
Even though the soles on these shoes are thick, they are not heavy and are constructed of materials to help keep them light. When purchasing your wedding sneakers, it is very important to keep in mind that these shoes run a bit small. Please order them in a half size to a size larger than you normally would wear. If you have wide feet add an additional half size to that.
Now go have fun without worrying about your feet on your wedding day. No one needs to know that you have sneakers on under your dress. I promise to keep your secret.
