It's always a challenge for Portland brides and grooms to sort out the long lists of wedding vendors and service professionals available to them. At times it seems it would be easier if one were handed a short list of the very best.
Oregon Bride Magazine attempts to do just that in their yearly "Best Of" competition, selected primarily by the magazine's readers. Voting is open now until March 1, 2012 for past brides and grooms to nominate their favorite wedding professionals. The vendor community may also nominate their peers. The list is published in the June issue of Oregon Bride.

As with any "Best of" List, clients themselves still need to practice due diligence to ensure that the specific professional works for their needs. Lists can also leave out wonderful independent businesses and up-and-coming stars that do not participate in a time-consuming campaign for reader votes. If nothing else, a "Best of" competition stimulates the industry to continually innovate and improve services and offerings, which only benefits Portland brides and grooms.
