This week's vendor of choice is MadeUpArt based in Chevy Chase, Md. With just a glance at the Web site, it is easy to see what a unique and vibrant style this company has when it comes to makeup. Makeup is a true art for owner/artist Nour Kazoun.

Nour Kazoun is the mastermind makeup artist behind MadeUpArt. She opened business in January 2008and focuses solely on makeup. Nour says, "We have one focus and that is why we are so great at what we do."

Why do you do what you do?
Honestly, when you are good at what you do and you know you are going to give amazing results, the feedback and the fact that you feel like you changed someone's life is what keeps you going.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by paintings, architecture, and high fashion magazines.

What line of makeup products do you use?
I pick what I like most from all the high-end lines. Currently, I use a lot of MAC, Laura Mercier, Bare Essentials, and NARS.

How do you pick out what colors/look is appropriate for a person?
It is a combination of many things. The first thing I look at is one's skin undertone and then I look at the eye color and hair color, Finally I ask my clients what colors they normally use and try to give them something different.

How much time do you spend doing one person's makeup?
It depends; a bride on average takes an hour and a bridesmaid on average takes about 35 minutes.

What other services do you offer aside from wedding day makeup application?
Airbrushing and body painting; special events, prom, editorial, high definition, as well as runway makeup.

How far will you travel?
I will travel all over, depending on availability and the type of project.

Favorite wedding experience/story.
Over a year ago I arrived to do makeup for a bride at her home in Bethesda and got to know her sister and mother while there (I also did their makeup). By the end of the experience, it was like we were best friends. The bride was so happy with the service provided that when she looked in the mirror she started to cry. I had to run over to make sure that the makeup stayed put! The sister, who lives out of town, was ecstatic with her makeup;  she took my information and told me that she would be contacting me when she gets married. Until today, the former bride and I are still in touch, and I do her makeup for all the special occasions in her life.

Where can brides find out more about MadeUpArt?
MadeUpArt can be found on Wedding Wire, Facebook, LinkedIn, Weddingbook.com, Model Mayhem and MySpace. We are in the process of getting in Daily Candy and in the Washingtonian, so keep an eye out!
