A Webcomic Review: My 25 Percent

The webcomic that I'm reviewing today is My 25 Percent, which is a workplace comic that has some semiautobiographical elements to it.  It's a fascinating comic, I must say (even though I confess to being a sci-fi geek myself), about a software engineer who works for a large software firm.  

The Pros:  The artwork.  The style of oversized heads with small bodies seem to go well with the concept, as big-headedness is very much a reality in the working world.  I also liked how the artist evolved over time, starting out his strips with just pencil work before moving onto colors and then flattening those colors to get that clean, crisp finish. 

The writing is humorous while talking about serious issues that happen to go on in the workplace. 

The Cons:  Some of the archives have it where you have to enlarge the image in order to read it.  Not all of them though.  For this, I suggest some consistency where a new reader doesn't have to enlarge any of the images to read them. 

Also, I'm not entirely sure about the excessive scrolling that one has to do in order to see all the links and whatnot.  I'm not the most innovative webdesigner I know, to be sure, but when I make a site, I make it so that a casual websurfer stumbling across my page doesn't have to do too much scrolling, if at all.   It might help if the creator shrank his strips a tad, and maybe arrange the layout so that a reader doesn't have to scroll quite so much.   Other than that, they're all set.

Overall, this is a really good comic, especially if you happen to like workplace webcomic genre.   To the creator: Keep it up.
