Run Ricky Run - Ricky Williams reveals himself in documentary

Ricky Williams can be summed up in one word.  Nice.  He's just a plain nice guy who has no reservations about revealing himself to the world, warts and all.  Yeah, he smoked weed.  Yeah, he walked away from football and landed at a yoga healing retreat in California for a couple of years.  But he also came back and had an incredible year with the Miami Dolphns as a league leading running back.

Austin always had a pure, clean love of Ricky when he led the Longhorns football team to winning seasons and won the Heisman Trophy, footballs most coveted prize.  Today, Rickys back in Austin, tweeting, having plate sized pancakes at Kerby Lane, looking for a house to buy in Austin, buying an iPad at the Apple store, and getting ready to attend Mack Browns evening charity event.  Yeah, he's moving back to Austin after the football season to attend UT and become a Psychiatrist.

Now he has this very revealing documentary made by Sean Pamphilon and distributed by ESPN films.  It's running now at the "30by30" program on ESPN.  The Exmainer and Spring.net reporter has over an hour of footage talking to Ricky one on one and in press conferences and public events.  This is just the first twenty minutes.

The "Run Ricky Run" documentary will re-air on EPSN2 (Austin Time Warner Cable channel 1636) on Thursday, 5/6/2010 at 7:00 pm on the "30 for 30" series.  So set your PVR or DVR and tune in to a very revealing portrait of one of Austin's most beloved sports figures, Ricky Williams.

The documentary premiere event in Austin benefited Ricky's own charity, the Ricky Williams Foundation.
The Ricky Williams Foundation (RWF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), organized to provide tutorial services, public speaking programs and sports camps that promote health and fitness.
