As Japan's "Kaguya" satellite crashed into the Moon earlier this month, only amateur astronomers with access to high power telescopes were able to catch a brief glimpse of the impact. (see previous Examiner.com article with images here: Kaguya impact seen from Earth)
Now comes this movie from the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) that shows the satellite's final plunge into the Moon's surface.
The "Kaguya" orbiter struck the Moon at an estimated 6,000 kilometers per hour or 3,728 miles per hour.
This video shows Kaguya's terrain imaging camera view of the final dive into the Moon.
