The map on the left is the forecast from the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC) for Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 7AM/EST.
The HPC issues precipitation, winter weather, short term, medium range forecasts, as well as, numerical model diagnostics and interpretation, surface analysis, and tropical cyclone forecasts.
The HPC is a full backup to the National Hurricane Center in case the NHC was unable to issue the advisories, statements, watches and warnings for any reason.
Most importantly, the products issued by the HPC supports all of the NWS offices and the customers of the NWS and NOAA.

Helpful tip:
When driving in fog, keep your low beams on. High beams reflect the light back off the water droplets in the fog.
I have also noticed with the fog we have had lately. People driving early morning without their headlights on. Please use your headlights when it's raining, and when there is limited visibility, such as a fog. This will help the other person see you.
Please, drive safe, and remember the weather rules while driving.
