A band of rain and thunderstorms moves across Downtown Jackson as a result of increased moisture from the remnants of Bonnie-Saturday evening (Sky Cam Loop)
Tropical moisture from the remnants of Bonnie is expected to provide the state with better rain chances over the next few days.

As the leading edge of rich tropical moisture from the remains of Bonnie increased from the south and east on Saturday, rain and a few thunderstorms developed and progressed to the west and northwest, affecting mainly areas along and east of Interstate 55 with these showers and thunderstorms propagating as far west as the Jackson metro area.
Much of the state will get in on the act today and on Monday with a more moisture latent airmass in place across the region as upper low over Texas draws Bonnie's moisture to the north and west.
This will lend to the development of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms through at least Tuesday.
In addition, the high pressure ridge that has provided the state with very hot and mainly dry weather conditions over the past week has weakened and shifted further east, which will also allow for increased shower and thunderstorm development over the next few days.
Locally heavy rain will be possible with any of the stronger storms, which could result in some flash flooding problems.
The increased cloud cover and rain will help keep temperatures somewhat cooler than they have been in the upper 80s and low 90s.
Hopefully most areas will see at least a little rainfall, because as we head towards the latter half of the week, the chances of rainfall will again decrease, while the heat increases with the dominate hot high pressure ridge building back over the region.
