Tuesday morning's satellite shows clear skies over much of
Colorado. Near record setting temperatures are on tap for
Tuesday.
Following on yesterday's record setting warmth, we look for an even warmer day today. Today's record high temperature was 76 degrees set in 1921. Right now it doesn't look like we will reach that mark but it will be close.
As we mentioned in earlier forecasts, the warm temperatures are nice but the fire danger is quite high. The warm temps, low humidities, and breezy winds are keeping things very dry. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for much of the I-25 corridor from the Wyoming state line south to Pueblo. Please be cautious out there.

Today - A sunny but breezy day ahead. We'll be reaching near record setting territory as we reach a high near 74 degrees. The record high for today is 76 degrees set in 1921 so we may not reach it. West winds from 9 to 12 mph will increase as the day progresses and could gust to 30 mph. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11:00am to 5:00 for gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels. Overnight lows on Tuesday will dip to 44 degrees. |

Wednesday - Sunny skies and high pressure again allow us to have temperatures nearly 25 degrees above normal. Look for a high of 75 degrees and an overnight low of 39. |

Thursday - Another breezy and warm day. A high of 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies are on tap. 14 to 17 mph winds with gusts to 40 mph are possible. Thursday night low temperatures will drop to 38 degrees. |

Friday - We start to cool down a bit and reach a high of "only" 64 degrees. Overnight lows of 35 degrees. |
Looking ahead... The weekend will bring a return to more seasonal temperatures in the low 50's.
