
Saturday night's tornado outbreak was the biggest in Illinois and the second biggest for the country this year.
Over 50 tornadoes were reported in 6 states including Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa and Vermont.
So far, at least 8 have been killed, several injured with numerous schools and businesses damaged. Illinois and Ohio were the hardest hit states with Illinois reporting the most tornadoes and Ohio reporting the most deaths.
An EF-3 was confirmed in the town of St. Anne, Illinois and in Livingston County near the town of Dwight, Illinois. 6 were injured there. EF-2 damage was confirmed between the towns of Streator and Dwight, Illinois. 17 people had been taken to a local hospital for treatment, and 30 buildings had "major structural damage", according to Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford.
In Ohio, tornadoes killed 7 people and injured several others in the towns of Lake Township and Millbury in Wood County. The tornado that killed 7 people was given an EF-3 rating with winds between 136 and 165 mph. This happens to be Ohio's deadliest tornado outbreak in 25 years.
One person was killed and another injured in Erie County, Pennsylvania, where a possible tornado flipped a trailer home, while uprooting and downing many trees and power lines, just after 230 am EDT Sunday morning.
Over 100 homes, buisnesses, and schools have been damaged. Cost estimates so far has eclispsed the $100 million mark. The current tornado death toll count is at 25, four more than the 21 from all of 2009.
This was the biggest tornado outbreak since the Mississippi outbreak.
