If you split the workweek in half the first half will undoubtedly be much more pleasant than the last half.
Monday should be relatively quiet with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 40s. We'll stay under a northwest flow aloft and a shortwave following that stream could be close enough to home Monday evening to bring a few light showers or flurries.
Tuesday looks like the best day of the week as warmer air moves into the region. Mostly sunny skies should help push temperatures up around 50 degrees Tuesday afternoon as we stay ahead of a cold front.
A cold front moving through the area late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will bring the first shot of colder air to northern Illinois. With mostly cloudy skies and breezy northwest winds we'll be much chillier Wednesday with highs in the low 40s.
We could see some snow flurries Wednesday night, but was colder air moves into the area we'll see a better chance for snow showers Thursday.
