Al Gore's scheduled December 16th speech with the auspicious title "Climate Conclusion" has been canceled amid the scandal of Climategate. About 3,000 Danes had tickets for the Berlinske Media event that was announced in August. Al Gore has been the poster child for Global Warming, but has been under scrutiny from scientists who argue against the findings of humans' involvement in our climate. This was highlighted in the documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle. A British court had ruled that there were 9 factual errors in An Inconvenient Truth, yet it still won an Academy Award in 2007, along with the Nobel Prize shared with the IPCC. Again in November, mistakes were found in Al Gore's new book begin with the cover. While some are trying to explain away the cancellation, it seems pretty obvious that there is too much skepticism to show up in a large public forum like this. Mr. Gore had to deal with some hard questions at a book signing this past week, and had the readers escorted away rather than discuss Climategate. See that video at the bottom of this post. Unfortunately this appears like a direct attack, but this is all about getting the truth out. Update: More support for skeptics came on December 4th when the earliest snow on record fell on Houston, beating the previous record of December 10th, last year and 1944. It was also the first time snow was measured there two years in a row. Snow also fell for the ealiest date on and around New Orleans.

Last week, Penn State's Michael Mann was placed under investigation after being implicated for his 'trick' in changing old data to make current temperatures look warmer. Unfortunately the old original data was erased, a serious blow to the scientific process. CEI intends to sue NASA Goddard for Climate Change fraud based on 'Freedom of Information'. On Tuesday, The University of East Anglia's Phil Jones was forced to step down as director of the world renown Climate Research Unit due to an investigation of his involvement in the fraud.
Rasumssen Reports released today from ClimateDepot.com shows the distrust more Americans have on this issue:
"Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Americans say it’s at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data to support their own theories and beliefs about global warming. Thirty-five percent (35%) say it’s Very Likely. Just 26% say it’s not very or not at all likely that some scientists falsified data. This skepticism does not appear to be the result of the recent disclosure of e-mails confirming such data falsification as part of the so-called “Climategate” scandal. Just 20% of Americans say they’ve followed news reports about those e-mails Very Closely, while another 29% have followed them Somewhat Closely."
This past year, The Skeptics Handbook was released by Australia's own Joanne Nova as a way to simplify the debate with four main points.

I'd like to comment that in the very beginning the man-made global warmimg scientists were honest and professional. What's happened is that the huge sums invested in the research to combat the 'problem' (in the order of 50 BILLION) have made it so tempting to continue their research and mould the data to suit their agenda.I imagine that having the ears of the world's leaders didn't help either......

The email climategate scandal has peeled open an insightful view into the strange and criminal world that so called scientists manipulating climate data have inhabited for nearly half of my lifetime. The email tells a sordid tale of corruption and racketeering and alone is damning enough. But of the contents that were leaked on the server, 95% of the materials were source code. Source code that can be analyzed and evaluated for discrepancies and oddities.
And the tale the source tells is even worse. It isn't just clear that criminal activity exists, it is without a doubt. No hack programmer that is worth his salt can ignore this outrageous attempt to code their way into the biggest global scam in history. I would like to make it VERY clear that I have NO political agenda here. This is not a Republican vs Democrat or Right Wing vs Left Wing issue. It’s about the science. The fact that politics have become so prominent in the Global Warming scientific debate is part of the problem. If there is a political movement to be made, it’s to push for our political representatives to learn more about the science. Knowledge is power. If they look at all of the facts and still think our planet is in an environmental crisis…then so be it. I can respect an educated opinion.
You all lost me with the book burning sequence. Gore's ideas may be fraudulent, but book burning places you alongside nefarious regimes in history. You need to do better than this in confronting what is likely a convergence of shoddy science and politics.
Hollywood filmmaker Lionel Chetwynd and screenwriter Roger L. Simon have proposed an investigation into whether or not Al Gore should be allowed to keep his 2 Oscars for Inconvenient Truth. You can see them discussing it (somewhat tediously) on their Pajamas TV site. As this film has been the main impetus for a massive restructure of global politics and wealth redistribution, this seems a fair request for the Academy.
Simon and Chetwynd also recommend that all those who agrees with them send an email to the Academy. Mine reads as follows:
"In light of Climategate and the UK court's decision that Inconvenient Truth may only be shown in schools with disclaimers of gross inaccuracies, I ask you to please explore the possibility of rescinding the 2 academy awards given for this film."

And just to add to the fun, do a google image search using "USS Skate March 17 1959". You will find a photo of the US navy's sub that surfaced at the North Pole in MARCH 1959 to VIRTUALLY NO ICE. Now the bleating sheep (yes, you food fascist) get all excited when ice melts in summer, but what do they have to say to VIRTUALLY NO ICE AT THE NORTH POLE IN MARCH, 1959, 3 MONTHS INTO THE WINTER SEASON AT THE NORTH POLE. By the way, this is where "hide the decline" comes into play, because it is obviously cooler now than it was in 1959.

Temperatures fluctuate on other planets, are there SUV's and "evil corporations" there? No. There is tons of evidence in sedimentary rock, tree rings, ice samples over thousands of years that show climate changes have ALWAYS occurred. With or without our involvement. All it takes is common sense and the patience to look into things a little deeper than just believing a scare tactic movie or book or listening to a politician who has ulterior motives like selling "carbon offsets."
