Albany Thursday forecast, sunny and mild

The first full day of fall will be a mostly sunny and mild one for the Albany-Saratoga-Lake George region as a weak area of high pressure briefly moves through. High temperatures will be in the mid 70's with a light northeast wind.

On Friday, a strong push of warmer air will pump into the region in advance of a strong cold front. High temperatures will soar into the mid 80's after some morning fog and low clouds burn off. Skies will become mostly sunny, with clouds gradually increasing again by evening as the front approaches.

The cold front will then move through on Friday evening, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms after midnight. The weekend will start off with some leftover clouds and showers on Saturday morning, with temperatures much cooler in the upper 60's. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies for Sunday and Monday, with temperatures in the mid to upper 60's. The next weather system looks to approach for late Monday and into Tuesday, bringing a chance of rain showers.

In the tropics, Lisa has weakened to a tropical depression in the far eastern Atlantic and is not expected to be an issue for anyone. This system will continue to meander in the open waters where it will eventually die out. Another area of interest in the central Caribbean Sea is being monitored for possible development. The National Hurricane Center is giving this low pressure area an 80% chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours.
