The Mayo Clinic, often cited by the Democrats as offering top quality care at affordable costs, has derided the Obamacare plan saying,
....the proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher quality, more affordable health care for patients. In fact, it will do the opposite. The real losers will be the citizens of the United States.
Senator John McCain (R-Ariz) immediately put the Mayo Clinic put-down of the Obamacare plan on Twitter, adding
They are right.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has announced plans for an advertising campaign on July 21, 2009, targeting employer mandates in the health care reform bill, which they say that Obamacare
...will threaten the employer-based system.
It was also called a "reckless experiment" by Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele, who has dubbed it as "socialism." The RNC will begin running ads to describe how Americans will be effected by the Obamacare program now being created by the Democrats.
One of the issues is the price tag as the deficit continues to rise so fast the clock that monitors it cannot keep up with the spinning numbers. The statement by the Congressional Budget Office that the Obamacare reform proposals making their way through Congress would drive up government spending and wouldn't curtail skyrocketing costs to consumers seems to have been a wake-up call for the public.
The deadlines for passage of the Obamacare plan have been passed as polls show that the American public is uneasy about it, especially those who already have medical insurance and are afraid that Obamacare will destroy it.
It seems that the usual catchwords Obama has been using have begun to lose their luster as polls show his number slipping and that the public is looking more closely at the reality rather than the rhetoric.
Pollster Scott Rasmussen first reported that support for Barack Obama and the Democrats in general had begun to seriously slip over a month ago, especially on the economy. At first, other pollsters didn’t catch the trend, but now almost all surveys show Americans losing confidence in the administration’s efforts on fiscal matters. Now the bleeding also has begun on Obamacare.
