The Rasmussen Poll now shows that more voters trust Republicans than Democrats to handle the economy by a margin of 45-39. In reporting the change, Scott Rasmussen wrote that “ this is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue.”
The Gallup Poll shows that Obama himself still retains a 67% personal rating ( Rasmussen polling gives him a 55 percent approval rating.) However, Gallup reports that he is only getting a
- 55 percent approval rating on his handling of the economy,
- 45 percent approve of the way he is handling of federal spending
- 46 percent approval of his handling of the budget deficit.
How this will effect the coming 2010 congressional elections is still to be seen.
