Once again the vendetta by the Obama administration against a tough sheriff in Arizona, Joe Arpaio, who comes down hard on illegal immigrants, is being exposed. The law enforcement official of Maricopa County, as usual, is fighting back.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security blame Arpaio for the release of 13 illegals. But as usual, the sheriff's office was smart enough to tape conversations with ICE showing that it repeatedly refused permission to take custody of the illegals.
On tape, an ICE official said about a woman who had admitted to be illegal:
Right now we cannot authorize you to take her into custody.
Another ICE official said:
The only way we can [authorize detainment} is if he has a criminal record.
The Maricopa Sheriff's department deputy, speaking to the ICE official said:
We're just gonna kick him loose then.
The ICE official responded:
OK.
This is not the first time the Obama administration has tried to discredit the feisty Maricopa County Sheriff because he takes a tough stand on illegal immigrants.
On May 29, 2009, a complaint letter was sent to both Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and Homeland Security Janet Napolitano documenting serious violations of ethical standards of conduct with the three investigations into the Sheriff practices. It spells out the harassment of the Sheriff because of the job he does in his aggressive enforcement of immigration laws.

No one expects the harassment by the Obama administration over Sheriff Irpaio's tough stand, following immigration laws, to stop. They might have gotten away with in Chicago, but Arizona is famous for its gutsy sheriffs and apparently the law enforcement official in Maricopa County is just following in the steps of lawmen like the ones who put the infamous Doc Holiday away.

Our elected officials have sold out their own country with not protecting our borders, and this began long before Obama, even though he certainly is doing nothing to discourage illegal immigration. McAmnesty and Dubya certainly never did anything to help stop the the hordes of illegal immigrants flooding our borders daily.

Presidential oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Specifically since 1986, Presidents and Congress have failed to enforce our immigration laws. They have allowed us to be invaded and occupied by uncounted tens of millions of lawbreaking illegal aliens. They have broken their oaths and should suffer the consequences. Sheriff Joe is one shining light in a sea of darkness!
No one thinks ICE officials should be focusing on illegal immigrants or legal citizens who commit real crimes? Trying to get a piece of equal money and freedom is NOT a crime, regardless of what a stupid piece of paper says. There were laws that prevented whites and blacks from marrying...were people supposed to accept that just because it was a law??
The author, Martha Gore, needs to add some information before claiming an Obama vendetta. This is such a poorly written piece on an interesting subject, it's amazing it's published anywhere.
Lastly, tangentially, the "hordes" of illegal immigrants are slowing due to our economic crisis.

American citizens are getting stuck with the problems that our government has chosen not to resolve. As least Sheriff Arpaio is doing his job. That's more than I can say for all the representatives in DC that have great health insurance and a hefty pensions. Then American citizens are left to pay the bill for all of them. Sadly we can't get any of them to listen to us.
The 287g agreements have been gutted so that only murderers, rapists and drug criminals will be deported, thus giving a backdoor amnesty to tens of millions of other criminal illegal aliens who use forged and/or stolen IDs, money launderers, thieves, sex offenders, etc. These are all criminals that believe they can pick and choose which laws they feel like obeying - in other words, they are anarchists. I for one, am sick and tired of these ILLEGAL ALIENS snubbing their nose at our immigration laws and the many other laws of this Country. If our Federal Government can not ENFORCE our immigration laws, and get these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of this Country, then let the States do it! One way or another, an end has to come to this illegal immigration, and not with AMNESTY! YOU GO JOE! I had ICE verify a Leb man who was a Canadian Citizen was in the US illegally for 10 years. He had no criminal record, and they (7 agents -1 ICE, 2 FBI, 2 NCIS & NCSBI)and he was ultimately given a VD (vol. Departure)He was charged with Bigamy while out on Bond from the fed govt. we gave them evidence he and his brother were part of the cig. smuggling from NC to Mich. & the hand written ledger showing $365,000. income in 26 months. The brother had been caught and cut a deal with ATF never serving a day, just a fine & probation. He still has not been indicted here in NC & it's been 29 months. Without a conviction he can come back legally, that's why his 3 attys don't want an indictment & the DA works with the lawyers to get what the want, caring nothing about the victim and child. His bus. operates 7 days a week but he can't afford child support & their atty won't go after the bus run by g/friend. What a wonderful legal system we have...
I agree with your point, but not your facts. Doc Holliday was friends with one of the more famous lawmen, Wyatt Earp. He died a free man.
Once again, this is all part of the bigger picture - amnesty, coupled with entitlements equals more democratic votes. If there are 12,000,000 illegals in this country and say a third of them could vote, 4,000,000 new democrats will make a difference. Open your eyes, America. Do you see the bigger picture yet? Sending big support to Sherrif Joe, an American Hero to legal citizens of all races. He'll need it too, w/ many Republicans,and the 'U.S' Chamber of Commerce out to stop him, so Big Business can have it's cheap labor. -On the other side, most of the Democrats have virtually allied themselves w/La Raza to buy illegal immagrant votes on the taxpayers backs. Arizonans, even if some of you don't care about illegal immigration, you can't let this pressure by the central government on Arizona's law enforcement go unanswered. By doing so you're facilitating your own descent into slavery to that central authority. Support Sheriff Arpaio, if only to prove that you are the masters of your state, not some federal beurocrats.

Unfortunatly for Obama, AZ has it's own immigration laws. They can arrest any illegal for smuggling, including smuggling themselves. I don't expect Joe to slow down one bit, even if the Feds decide for selective enforcement, the good people of AZ have another card up their sleave. Now let's see, can BO overcome the 10th admendment?
