The term Politburo refers to the supreme policy-making body of the Communist party of the Soviet Union and became the model for other dictatorships in Eastern Europe. The first Politburo was created in 1917 to provide appointed leadership during the Bolshevik uprising.
The Soviet's party congress of 1919 instructed the Central Committee to elect a new Politburo and went through a number of transitions. It was revived again in 1966 and then was dissolved with the breakup of the Soviet Union.
What was and is important about a Politburo is that it contains individuals that are only answerable to the person who appointed them, no one else. It is an unelected leadership council and in the case of Obama, helped him avoid the scrutiny that might have come about if they had been nominated and come before Congress before taking their place in the White House.
According to Senator Byrd:
President Obama’s “czar strategy” is an unprecedented power grab centralizing authority in the White House, outside congressional oversight and in violation of the Constitution.

- Health-Care Czar: Nancy Ann DeParle
- Urban Czar: Aldolfo Carrion, Jr.
- Energy Czar / Climate Czar: Carol Browne
- Bank-Bailout Czar aka TARP Czar: Herb Allison
- Drug Czar: Gil Kerlikowske
- Faith-Based Czar: Joshua DuBois
- War Czar: Army Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute

At last count, there were 18 Czars appointed by President Obama without any approval asked of Congress. By the time he finishes, he may beat that of the Romanov reigning family in Russia that also counted 18 in their own Politburo's collective leadership council.

10-15 years ago who would have thunk you would be hearing the word Czars associated with the POTUS administration, you obamabots are imbeciles.
After the secret "WHIG" meetings in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq, Enron vetting energy regulation commission, the immense corruption of Rove, wiretapping, rollback of environmental protection, dismissal of US attorneys, you make a story out of these so-called "czars??" These are not shadowy figures in the cabinet, the names of the these advisers are readily available, easy to find. They are ADVISERS, they do not have bureaucratic power, so, they don't have much power period. This is just another way to create fear in reactionary conservatives by throwing around the word CZAR, to summon up images of Russia, cold war, communism, etc.

“AFL-CIO President John Sweeney sent out a memo this week outlining a blue-print for union members to counter the campaign of fear and intimidation in which hired thugs are infiltrating health care town hall meetings to heckle, disrupt and even physically assault health care reform advocates.
Obama is getting his unions and fellow Communists to counter us. Bring it on.

Obama Open to Creation of Health Cooperatives
President Barack Obama may accept nonprofit health-insurance cooperatives in place of a new government-run plan as long as consumers are guaranteed more choice and competition in buying insurance, a top aide said.
“We would be interested in that” if those conditions are met, Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s “Conversations with Judy Woodruff” airing today.
