While Secretary of State Hillary Clinton advocated a stronger U.S. response to the beating and killing of protesting Iranians, President Obama resisted. When he finally at least said he was appalled and outraged by the Iranian government behavior, it was long after both England and France had condemned it. Always the egotist, Obama did not even let Clinton know that he was finally going to speak out and took the action without informing her.
The situation was one more piece evidence of Obama's weak-kneed response when it came to standing up to tyrants around the world. It was a reminder of his shaking hands and accepting a book from Chavez and his willingness to talk with other U.S. enemies without preconditions. And his bow in Saudia Arabia is not to be forgotten.
Obama was criticized by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) as being "timid" because he failed to speak out early in the crackdown by the Iranian regime by its regime. Other Republicans were dismayed when Obama said he was still willing to engage with Iran at the same time as its citizens were bleeding and dying on the streets of its cities and towns. However, it should have been no surprise as when he was in the Senate, he was known as the "Master of the Political Straddle", having voted "present" instead of committing himself over 50 times during the short time he spent there.
Some say Obama is afraid of making a mistake and was overly cautious when he should have been standing up Tehran. It took Hillary Clinton to have the guts to stand up for the protestors in Iran while Obama offered the regime his hand in friendship.

Someone is only trying to make Clinton sound tougher on Iran for her run for Pres. I will vote Obama next time too. If Hilary runs for Pres, not against Obama, then I will vote to keep a Democrat in Office. My money cannot handle another Republican. Does anyone know what Palin's IQ is. Low as you go. No really. I thought she mostly always sounded stupid, or uneducated at least. She would be scary as Pres. or Vice Pres.
We knew from the beginning that Hillary was the tough one, no surprise on her stand with Iran. This is also why the Democratic party selected Obama over her, the party knew that they could get Obama to do whatever the party wanted, not so with Hillary. With her, the American people would have been guarantied the healthcare coverage so badly needed, with Obama it is becoming more and more doubtful, not to mention the economic recovery...
Was this article written by a child? What does this writing contribute to the issue aside from regurgitating the Republican party line chants we heard over and over during the Obama-McCain election? It's heartwarming to see the writer's empathy with Iranian civilians now, when during the election she was most likely dancing to McCain's famous "Bomb, Bomb Iran" song. A proposal that if executed would have killed millions of Iranian civilians. Bandwagon convenience of touting a cause is often a sign of hypocrisy. I never knew the examiner was such a low grade publication.
