The congressional election in 2010 may become a battle between Democrats running for reelection and the organized business community.
Described as a multitasking, multimillion-dollar defender of the private sector against presidential initiatives by the Associated Press, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be working during the Congress's August Recess to stop the setting up a government-run insurance alternative. It is also working to delay a consumer finance protection agency which it feels interfers with free enterprise.
The Chamber says they are not against a mandate of insurance coverage for all. They just don't it run by the federal government.
Members of Congress will be hearing from the Chamber's 3 million members to make sure it's point of view is heard, using letter writing and tracking personal appearances. The group believes that business and free enterprise is under attack and plans to make its voice heard.
Democrats are on notice that a $100 million campaign is timed to lead into the 2010 elections. As part of its health care effort, the Chamber is running newspaper and online ads against the government-run insurance option which will be targeted to moderate Democrats and Republicans in five states that may vote in favor of ObamaCare.

oh,yeah...let's just stop all the pretense and hand over government to big business...why go through the pretense of acting like lobbyists aren't already paying republicans to oppose any healthcare reform...let's just all hand over government to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce directly and cut out the expense of lobbyists altogether.
I love the fact everyone loves to point out the other countries that have National Health Care, and have no idea what they are speaking of! Just once I would love to see these people talk to those that are under those government run programs. See what your opinion would then be.

please tell us all about the countries that you, Danial, have lived in with those bad, bad government run programs. And please be as specific about all the details as much as you possibly can...this is going to be great! Finally, we find an expert in the field of badly run government programs (thanks Danial!) I can hardly wait for all the free knowledge Danial is going to bestow upon us.
