Graphic designer Ken Carbone, writing for Fast Company, thinks the Washington Redskins helmet is one of the weakest designs, among others, and is “a graphic mess.” Carbone took a stab at a redesign of the helmet see picture at left.
Matt Terl likes the design. I’m not so sanguine about it. Carbone stripped the iconic Indian head logo and the feather motif looks like London Fletcher tackled an ostrich. Not to revisit the whole logo-racism argument, but if the Redskins were forced to stop using the Indian-head logo, Carbone’s design isn’t one I’d like to see on game day. I’ll agree with Matt that going full throw back (to the arrow head helmet I presume) would be nice.
Carbone did redesigns on the Tampa and New England helmets. The Buccaneers helmet is nicely done. The Patriots helmet is a mess, which resembles the helmet in that terrible Captain America movie from the early 1980s.

Good article....Your links are a little messed up...Looks like there is an extra http// in there.
if they are going to switch the helmet/uniform,then go for the deep burgundy/gold worn in the shuler years, with nothing on the helmet. then, change the name to Washington Football Club. then, get snyder to sell.
a new helmet is not gonna help them win maybe they should invest time and money in getting better and start winning games and stop letting down all the dc fans by sucking soo much this season!!!!!!!!!!
that is awful, sports team logos should not follow trends
This guy should stop designing...it's the ugliest thing I have EVER seen...
Why in the world would anybody redesign a helmet like that? The worst looking helmet I have ever seen! Maybe he should redesign his career!
looks to much like the eagles
I like the design. maybe just wear them on away games.something different, why not.
sorry but this helmet sucks
That helmet design SUCKS !
If that is ever used I would NEVER claim to be a Redskins fan.
We would be the laughing stock of the league.
Got something to say?
