You can almost sense that the new season is just around the cornet. A few players have already started getting ready for the marathon, including Alex Ovechkin who has been training for two weeks now with Dynamo Moscow in Russia and his personal fitness coach Dmitry Kapitonov.
Now Sovetsky Sport is reporting that a hero of last season's playoffs with the Washington Capitals, Semyon Varlamov, also started getting into shape looking to take the number one spot from Jose Theodore.
Sovetsky Sport (via Shaibu-Shaibu) is reporting that Varlamov is training with CSK VVS Samara hockey club. It is not the first time that Varlamov trains with the "Flyers" (VVS in Russian stands for "Air force") during the off season. Varlamov will spend another week and a half in his native Samara and will leave for Moscow at the end of August for the preseason Olympic national team camp.
