Wake Forest University sophomore Anna Nosenko, who's a native of Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, finished first in five meets for the Deacs during the 2009 cross country season.

Nosenko's performances on the track, along with her efforts in the classroom, landed her a spot on the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team for her second-straight time. The announcement was made on Thursday morning.

Nosenko, who's pursuing a political science degree, captured her first two individual titles this past year, finishing first overall at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational on Sept. 18 and the Wake Forest Relays on Sept. 4. At the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite, Nosenko completed the 4.6-kilometer course in 16:09.4, more than 15 seconds ahead the second-place finisher in a field of 93 runners. She also paced the field at the season-opening Wake Forest Relays with a combined two-leg 5K time of 17:14. Nosenko was honored as the ACC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the first time in her career on Sept. 21.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career.
