Inclement weather, credit card bills, gaining ten pounds; of all the traditions that help usher in the holidays, the most pleasant by far is the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Aside from shameless compulsion, what business does a Vodka Examiner have writing an article about such? This year Stolichnaya Vodka has signed on as an official sponsor, and to promote the release of their latest product, the Stoli Gala Applik, have created the signiture drink of the Fashion Show after party, the Stoli Angel Elixir. That I had to install new software to be allowed onto the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show website, in order to complete this article, and the gratuitous slideshow, viewable here, and below, is nothing more than a testament to my professional commitment.

3 strawberries
Sprinkles of vanilla sugar
Rosé Sparkling Dessert Wine
Muddle strawberries and vanilla sugar. Add Stoli Gala Applik, shake well and strain into a flute. Top with rosé sparking dessert wine. Garnish with edible gold dust & pink aphrodisiac rose petal - Created by renowned mixologist Charlotte Voisey (Eldridge, Rose Bar)
Indeed, the recipe calls for edible gold dust. Apply this sparingly, the stuff goes quick. It would be easy to go through your entire stash in a single Victoria's Secret after party. As for vanilla sugar, you can likely find this in the bin next to the edible gold at your local market.
The 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on CBS, on December 1st, though the show itself, and the after party, took place in New York City last night. Omnipresent at both was Heidi Klum, introducing her own Stolichnaya inspired creation the Heidi-licious:
¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz. Simple Syrup
Dash of Grenadine
The Heidi-licious, too, calls for garnish of edible gold dust and aphrodisiac flower petals. It is acceptable to use the same garnish in both drinks. With Stolichnaya and Victoria's Secret fashion models at your gala, no one should mind.

Decadent and dreamy. Well done, Christopher. The slide show is definitely reminiscent of a certain Brazilian bikini portfolio I vaguely remember seeing, and a fine contender for the Nobel Piece Prize.
