Legendary rock photog Ethan Russell to appear in New York City tonight

Photographer Ethan Russell, whose rock photos, including of such musical acts as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Linda Ronstadt and the Who are legendary, will appear tonight (Nov. 18) at The Morrison Hotel Gallery Loft, 116 Prince St. in the SoHo area of New York City.

A visual presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the Apple Store SoHo at Prince and Greene across the street. This will be followed by a reception and print exhibition and sale at The Morrison Hotel Gallery Loft at 116 Prince St. in SoHo.

Russell is the only photographer to have photographs on album covers for the Beatles ("Let It Be"), the Rolling Stones ("Through the Past Darkly") and the Who ("Who's Next").

On Thursday, the Morrison Hotel's Bowery Gallery, 313 Bowery Ave., New York City, will feature a special presentation honoring the 40th anniversary of "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones In Concert," as photographed by Russell.
