Resonance of Fate demo now live in Japan

For those Japanese Roleplaying Game fans that can actually read Japanese, or are simply not afraid to muddle through some Japanese text, there's good news.  The Resonance of Fate demo--also known as End of Eternity in Japan--is now available for people with access to a Japanese  Xbox Live or Playstation Network account.

The demo takes place somewhere well after the story has begun, throwing players into gauntlet of sorts where they move from chamber to chamber, taking on various enemies using the "TAB" or tri-attack battle-system.  The combat is typical of the new generation of JRPGs in that it uses a hybrid mix of turn-based and real time elements to add urgency to the mechanics.  Like Valkyria Chronicles, players are susceptible to enemy fire as they move about the battle area, but once they commit to a direction and action, the game switches over to a turn-based system that uses slowly charging meters and timed button presses to inflict a mix of normal and "scratch" damage.

If you're a JRPG fan looking for something a little bit different, and you're not afraid of fumbling around in Japanese, consider giving the demo a try.  The combat is unique and at this point, seems to flow well.  Of course how the plot and characters turn out is a matter of evaluation for the full game.
