September is usually the beginning of an onslaught of big new video game releases. This is especially true this year with the launch of the Playstation Move for the Playstation 3 in addition to several blockbuster titles. Here are the top 10 most-anticipated games for the month of September.
10. Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii)
Based on the animated cartoon show of the same name, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is an old-school 2D beat 'em up game that features DC heroes such as Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Batman, Bat-Mite, Green Lantern and Robin. Moreover, the game will stay true to the source with all the original voice actors reprising their role. Batman: The Brave and the Bold is shaping up to be a must-have game for old and new fans of the cartoons.
9. Atelier Rorona: The Alchemists of Arland (Playstation 3)
Atelier Rorona: The Alchemists of Arland is the first Playstation 3 entry into the series. Instead of your usual save-the-world affair, this unique role-playing title focuses on synthesizing items through the use of alchemy although you still have to explore the world and fight enemies to acquire items. Despite being over a year since it was released in Japan, Atelier Rorona: The Alchemists of Arland is shaping up to be a solid game for fans of the genre.
8. Phantasy Star Portable 2 (PSP)
Building off of the success of the original, Phantasy Star Portable 2 continues the story from Phantasy Star Universe. In addition to the improved combat and customization features, the sequel also lets you connect via the PSP’s Infrastructure mode, which allows you to play online with others. Phantasy Star Portable 2 will provide you and your friends countless hours of great cooperative fun.
7. Echochrome II (Playstation 3)
The Playstation Move accessory launches in North America on September 4, 2010. Out of all the Move games coming out in the month, Echochrome II is the most promising. The puzzle game uses the Playstation Move as a flashlight to create shadows from objects so that you can lead a mannequin’s silhouette to its goal. With the ability to create and share your own levels as well, Echochrome II should be the best Playstation Move game coming out in September.
6. Plants vs. Zombies (Xbox 360)
The popular Tower Defense title, Plants vs. Zombies, will finally makes its way onto the Xbox Live Arcade of the Xbox 360 this September. In this addicting title, you must defend your house from a zombie invasion by growing different types of plants around your house. Fans of PopCap Games can also buy the game along with Peggle and Zuma in a special retail package.
