In their recent conference regarding their turnaround plans, Sony revealed that more than 33 million users are registered to the Playstation Network as of November 16, 2009.
The online service launched alongside the Playstation 3 a little over three years ago on November 11, 2006. Since then, Sony has expanded the Playstation Network on to the PSP. With the launch of the PSP Go and the resurgence of the Playstation 3, you can expect this number to continue to grow.

brought a ps2, broke, didnt like sony
brought an xbox 1, in the uk it was onyl out for 3 years, of which i had it for 1.5, felt cheated.
sonys ps2 was still going strong,
then ps3 came along, it clearly better made, doesnt break, whipser quiet, i feel bad even saying this, as theres a list of about 40 things its good at. sumarising it DOES NOT HELP in ANY WAY. it will be here in 10 years im sure of it, and this is why, now, i have brought one. (last year actually, for 299.99 with darkknight on blu-ray, an hdmi cable, and 2 games.) and who ever said there expensive, hasnt been bothered to look. GO SONY
THATS AN 80 GIG PS3, LAST YEAR, 2 GAMES A FREE BLU-RAY FREE HDMI CABLE. are you listning xbox fanboys, !! you are also getting ripped by 34.99 or 39.99 i the uk, per year ,for live. which is in no way better than psn,. which is free.. oops there i go again, pointing out good thing, that doesn't help the cause in anyway. as xbox fanboys, will 'always' argue back, when simply a list is needing to be comprised of exclusive/best features/games, and compare who's dick* is longer .....&phatter. peace.
And if we consider the number of modified (and banned) consoles, not forgetting the pirate games, it's easy to think ms must be concerned.
