Normally, you can’t carry over the weapons from your previous save when starting a new game in God of War III. However, a recent glitch found by players will enable you to start a new game under any difficulty with all weapons acquired and maxed-out.
As a result, you get to use weapons that won’t be available until later in the game (like the Nemean Cestus) right at the start. In addition to making combat much easier, you can also skip several sections in the game entirely since you already have all the weapons and abilities to open the blocked paths although it will lead to a crash in one instance (minor spoiler: breaking the onyx on the Three Judges with the Nemean Cestus before you’re supposed to). Furthermore, your weapon levels will remain maxed-out even when you re-acquire them in the new game with one exception: the Blades of Exile, which will be reset to the first level. Finally, you can still earn trophies when using this glitch.
To activate the glitch, take the following steps:
1. Unlock Combat Arena by beating the story once and then clearing the Challenges of Olympus mode.
2. In the Combat Arena option screen, set Kratos’ Health to “Level 1” and difficulty to “Titan.” Set up the Enemies option with creatures that can kill you quickly and start the battle.
3. In the Combat Arena, die five times in a row and the game will prompt you to switch to Easy mode. Select “No” to exit to the main menu.
4. You should hear two different music tracks playing over each other. Furthermore, the Maxed Out! trophy will be unlocked if you didn’t already have it. From the main menu, select “New Game” and the difficulty of your choice to activate the glitch.
No words yet on when SCE Santa Monica Studio will release a patch for the glitch, if they will at all. God of War III launched on March 16th exclusively for the Playstation 3.
Update: The gltich still works after the 1.01 patch update.

The guy who discovered this had just been practicing in the Combat Arena, managed to die enough to get offered Easy, decided he was done practicing, and quit. Lo and behold, trophy. Gotta love happy accidents.

I just gave it a go and (yay!) it works, but when you get to the river styxs your health and magic go back down to normal and your blades of exile are at their starting level. But you get the other weapons and can skip some parts of the game with some items. Still awesome though :)

I've been trying to beat the game on chaos mode, Ive gotten to the test of the three judges. It took forever to get that far!! Im sorry, but i gotta cheat!!!
set to infinity health and al the other things and put 3 gorgins on then jump and u will shatter when u turn to stone and hit the ground do this five times and u will be asked to go to easy say no and start new game u will have unliited health
Does this work if I'm in a middle of a game or do I have to start from the beginning?

@rbtnt generally happens by chance. Out of the thousands of people playing the game, at least 1 will accidentally unlock this cheat, and go "htf did that happen?!", then backtrack his steps until he figures it out.
...OR, someone at Santa Monica knows the bug and let some ppl know =/

also if u set ur health ur magic and item to infiite and set the gorgin jump and turn to stone in the air u will shater and do this five times it will ask say no and pick ur new game i did chaos u will have infinity health not magic.
I think it was patched, because I was never prompted after dying 5 times.
