Before going on to create the ultra-violent Unreal and Gears of War video games, Epic Games developed the cutesy platforming series, Jazz Jackrabbit. While not as popular as the two aforementioned series, it did garnered a rather sizable cult following.
Unfortunately, a revival is not currently planned. During the Gears of War: The Gearsiverse panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games confirmed that they weren’t working on a Jazz Jackrabbit title when asked of the possibility during the Q&A session.
He is leaving the door open, however, by saying that he will discuss the possibility with Chair Entertainment. In 2008, Epic Games acquired Chair Entertainment, a development studio responsible for Undertow and the upcoming Shadow Complex on the Xbox Live Arcade of the Xbox 360.
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 came out in 1998. Jazz Jackrabbit 3 was planned but later cancelled due to the lack of a publisher.

Hmm, that's a bummer, I've seriously been waiting for a sequel for years by now.
Also interesting to mention is that the project wasn't only headed by Cliffy B, but also Arjan Brussee, the man who later went on to found Guerilla (Killzone).
