Capcom: Mega Man Legends 3 is definitely not dead

Mega Man Legends Playstation box art.

Mega Man Legends was released in North America in 1998. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne and Mega Man Legends 2 soon followed in 2000. Since then, the series have stayed dormant.

Capcom hasn’t completely given up on Mega Man Legends just yet, however. During a recent interview on the latest 4 Guys 1UP Podcast show, Seth Killian, Capcom’s Community Manager, said that the following when asked about the possibility of Mega Man Legends 3:

It’s definitely not dead and Inafune says, I saw him yesterday and he always says that. He knows that’s a question from fans all the time and he talks about it all the time: ‘you know when I finally get some time, I’m going to work on a Legends 3 or something.’ He definitely would like to see it happen.

Seth Killian is referring to Keiji Infaune, who is known as the father of Mega Man. In 2008, Mega Man 9 was released 11 years after Mega Man 8. Hopefully, fans don’t have to wait for that long of a gap in order to play a new Mega Man Legends game.

capcom confirmed that it won't make legends 3 due to lack of sales from its predecessor: legends 2. inafune is probably aware of that too. until inafune give some sort of real info besides the typical, "it will come" tell us what year you might or will possibly make it.

Weren't MML 1 and 2 released on the PSP in Japan? Capcom just needs to throw 'em up on PSN, like everyone's said. I'd love a third game but yeah, this is the response people get every time.

It didn't sell coz of 2 things: Bad marketing on their part and elitist grandpa megaman players keep on insisting that the franchise should be 2D only... Idiots.

If they release games 1 & 2 on PSN, the older games should also be publicized for MML3 to be a hit... Legends has great potential..

Megaman Legends 2 Didn't sell that well because it wasn't advertised properly and when fans finally found out that it existed YOU COULDN'T FIND IT! I Spent about 3 years trying to find a copy of it, I had MML and saw offhandedly online there was a legends 2 and I freaked I HAD to have it. It took me 5 years to track down a copy that someone was willing to let go of. I still havn't managed to get a copy of The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, no one wants to part with it. Inafune as stated He wants to make a Legends 3, but he has a lot of other projects on hand, if he was given the go ahead to make it. (o if he just had the extra time to work on it) I can guarantee it would come to exist.

It's been 10 years, I think capcom can forget about the poor sales of MML2 (it was their fault they didn't properly advertise it anyway.) And with the HUGE following the game has right now THEY ARE FOOLS to NOT make it.
