You don't typically think of politics and games going hand in hand. The Deus Ex series may be an exception though because it is full of government and corporate conspiracies. Eidos Interactive's Montreal studio has chosen to use the concept art for Dues Ex: Human Revolution to make a political statement about former President George W. Bush.
The concept art depicts a Detroit police station with a series of wanted and missing posters. One of those posters is a picture of Bush with the text "WANTED FOR MASS MURDER". Bush would be 81 by the time of the game's 2027 setting.
Of course with this being concept art, there is no guarantee that it ends up in the final product. However, Eidos Montreal has made clear where they stand on the presidency of George W. Bush.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is due for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in the early 2011. You can see the full concept art screenshot in the gallery below.

This is beyond stupid and it's sad the brass there didn't know this already. The last thing you do is put something in your game that is going to offend people that may be buying your game. Political people are passionate people and are not beyond boycotting a product if it offends their ideology. I hope their feelings about another countries leader means enough to them that they are willing to risk a dent in their sales.
Excellent! Looks like 2027 won't be a completely dark future.
anyone who boycotts a game over a wanted poster is dumb.
besides chances are he will have died of old age by then.
Is this somehow controversial? Is it a "conspiracy theory"?
It's an established fact that Bush and his cronies invaded Iraq under false pretenses. There were no WMDs. The psychopath even jokes about it in this disgusting display of presidential humor:

Yeah, real funny Bush. How many Iraqis did you kill?
Mr Grill, the rest of the world knows more about US foreign policy than the average American Joe Sixpack who gets all his info from Fox News or MSNBC. It's no conspiracy to them that George W Bush the fake cowboy is a war criminal.
Got something to say?
