The original game that launched one of the most successful gaming franchises of this decade is being re-released this week on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.  Originally released in 2003 on the PC, Call of Duty has had many spin-offs, ports, and sequels through the years along with a slew of favorable reviews and awards.

Now you'll have a chance to see how it all began when the game is released on Wednesday via Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 MS Points ($15) and Thursday via the Playstation Network for $14.99.  The game features all original 24 single-player missions throughout some of the biggest battles of World War II such as D-Day, Stalingrad, and the Battle of Berlin.  It will also feature online multiplayer.

Those that purchased the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Hardened and Prestige Editions will just have to redeem the tokens that came with the game to get Call of Duty Classic for free.
