The next Zelda for Wii to be shown at E3 2010

Like this, only newer and more exciting!

President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, during a lengthy financial meeting today, revealed that the next core Legend of Zelda title will be shown at the Electronics Entertainment Expo or E3, this summer.

During the presentation, in front of financiers, the president laid out the company's plans for 2010 and among the mundane graphical analysis and projections, he outed the latest Zelda title.

Here's exactly what the man said:

"Super Mario Galaxy 2, a Mario action title in 3D world, will be launched this year.
And, we will show the new Zelda title for Wii at this year's E3."

It's been a long time coming for Nintendo and Zelda fans, as the last console title came in the form of the beloved Twilight Princess in 2006, which was made available Nov. 16, 2006, the day the Wii launched.

There's been sweeping rumors and gargantuan amounts of speculation surrounding the game, but thankfully, in just five months, gamers will have a clue as to what Nintendo has kept secret for so very long.

Hopefully the new title will not only be shown, but also be playable on the E3 2010 show floor so games journalists can try their hands at whatever Nintendo has up its sleeve.

What did you think of Twilight Princess, if you played it of course? Also, are you excited for the sequel, whatever it is? Will you attend a midnight launch for the game at your local GameStop?
