Microsoft's massively multiplayer online trivia game, 1 vs 100, is coming back for a second round and the festivities kick off just in time for the festive season. Grab your friends and family starting Thursday, November 19th as the game ramps up for its first live show with nightly Extended Play sessions. In Extended Play there is no live host or single player chosen as The One; it's every player for themselves with new trivia that covers the 80's, Vampires, and even musical aptitude with 'Finish the Lyrics' questions.
Once the cobwebs have been cleared out, host Chris Cashman at Microsoft HQ will begin a new season of live shows. Upgrades from season one will help keep things running smoothly, putting The One in 'Away' mode on Xbox Live to ensure they don't get hit with 1,000 new friend requests and messages while they're in the hot seat. The One also gets a flashy new introduction as their Avatar walks onto the stage and the onlookers are sure to have some new dance animations.
Prizes return as well with The One able to walk away with up to 10,000 Microsoft Points if they can best all 100 members of The Mob who are vying for a share of The One's jackpot. Members of The Mob and The Crowd can also win Microsoft Points and Xbox Live Arcade Games and all players are able to unlock Achievements for accomplishing a myriad of tasks.
This past summer's beta season was a huge success for Microsoft. There were kinks to work out and some network issues that saw players dumped offline, but the show still garnered an average of over 500,000 unique contestants every week and a total of nearly three million downloads.
