Continuing to reinvent the wheel is a common practice in the video game industry. Shooters with new weapons but the same story, RPG's with the same story but new weapons... gamers and non-gamers alike always seem to eat these games up either out curiosity or being a long time fan. Fans have always been a great market for any genre in the business and it's no wonder that the greatest fan base for one of the biggest names in the industry continues to recieve a makeover time and time again.
Mario Mario and Luigi Mario are two of the most reinvented characters in all of video game history where either of the two have been: doctors, sports pros, teachers, fighters, heroes, and of course, plumbers. At the turn of every major remake for the Mario Bros. the basic premise is always a platforming game and has been since its early days. The games always manage to introduce some new elements in order to enhance player experience. The New Super Mario Bros. Wii is no different.
Onlookers and fans might've kept up with the press conferences and showings of the game since it's unveiling at E3. The new additions to the game have included: Wii Kind Code (now named the Super Guide) and a propeller helmet which allows the player to gently descend to the ground. There are a few screenshots from a japanese magazine that showcase more information about the game itself such as a few levels, more enemies and the return of the Fire Flower's polar opposite, the Ice Flower, which enables players to freeze enemies (as first seen in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time).
Looking forward to playing the game? New Super Mario Bros Wii will debut in stores on November 15.
