Prince of Persia official movie trailer out now

Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films presents the official movie trailer for the long-awaited movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince and emerging actress Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina.

Based off of the 2003 video game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the movie will incorporate story components from the game as well as add a few new characters and plot elements. The movie follows Prince Dastan, who previously went without a name in all of the released games, and will reveal not only more about his childhood but will also give fans a chance to see a different side of the Prince not yet seen in the games.

The Prince of Persia movie is set for international release in May 2010.

@ Curious: I have no idea why they chose to change the name. The Princess' name in the game is indeed Farrah, but for some reason they chose to bring in a Princess Tamina for whatever reason. Perhaps they're saving Farrah for a potential sequel? Who knows, but it does prove to be confusing to those of us who have actually played the game.

Saw an ad for this at the theatre. The only Prince of Persia game I ever played was a side scroller for my gameboy. Can't wait to see Jake's pretty face in 2-d.

to thread: It's like Zelda all over again. I spent all of my illiterate life thinking that green boy was named Zelda.
