If Heavy Rain was causing major problems for you, then you should head to your PS3 now and pop-in your copy of Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream and Sony have released Patch 1.02 for the title and it is reportedly fixing all previous problems the game was suffering from. As has been reported since the game launched, many had freezing issues, graphical glitches, and a variety of other bugs damper their Heavy Rain experience, thankfully all that now appears to have passed us by with this new patch. Weighing in at 38MBs, the file is small in size, but some are reporting some minor problems while trying to download it the file, so please be patient if it doesn't download right away.
Let us know if this patch fixed your problems or if some still remain. Sony did state this patch may not fix all the problems, but they hope it fixes most.

The 1.02 patch did fix my game, which was stuck with the black screen of death at 'The Rat' chapter and couldn't be continued. The save now loads again and I can finally finish my playthrough after waiting weeks for a fix. Not exactly an ideal way to experience this groundbreaking title, but it's at least better than completely losing all my progress (and faith in the developer).
It didn't fix all of the problems for me. Sound stutters from time to time, but it is indeed a big improvement for the playability of the game before the patch. I can now play the game without fearing that it will freeze, like it happened to me several times.
I did experience freeze. But I only experienced the freeze once.
How about a damn patch for 1080 support?

i really hope they fixed EVERY problem in the game cause i'm stuck right before the end of the game and i can't continue (i'm trapped in the bathroom of the origami killer as madison paige because the the goddamm sign to open the door doesn't appear so i can't get out of the bathroom :P lol) I REALLY WANT TO SEE THE END OF THE GAME!!!! :(
The only things I noticed were jittery opening credits and some audio glitches. I was able to finish the game just fine. Will install the patch for the collecting of the rest of the trophies.
I was stuck with a black screen and this patch fixed the bug.
to johndet123 man u r so funny thats not a glitch is part of d game u have 2 find ur way out well i never suffer any glitch whit d game an been playing it a lot so far i saw 14 different endings great game i love it
Fixed everything? It didn't fix a single issue with my game. Still had sound cutting out, still had massive screen tearing... The only thing this patch did different for my play experience of the game was making me download it before I could play.
The patch broke Chapter 1 Prologue for me.
I repeatedly followed this sequence and it always broke the game:
-From Main Menu, select Chapter 1 Prologue
-Get out of bed, shower, dress, go downstairs
-Complete all steps of architectural drawing
-Wait for family to return
-Help wife with groceries
-Talk to wife in kitchen
-Press X to discuss "Work"
-When wife asks to set plates, press X to say "OK"
-Quickly walk to plate cabinet next to dining room table
-Slowly and carefully set all plates on the table
-Quickly walk outside to play with kids
-*Game-breaking glitch/bug occurs*
Here is the glitch: the sequence to play with the kids never activates, so it is impossible to complete the first chapter.
Also, if you go back to the kitchen, the wife appears to be frozen, i.e. not animating at all.
I have tried this multiple times, and it happens every time, so it's impossible to complete the chapter or get the first trophy by following this sequence.

Didn´t do anything for me. Still the game takes 15 mins of black screen waiting before showing me the start screen, then freezes solid 30 seconds into any chapter I dare try replaying. This on a phat PS3 that has never experienced any such problems at all - ever.
I'm Hearing a lot of great things about the gameplaY but still Hesitating...I just want some one who plaY the game to be honestl with me and tell me about the game and if I should buY it...That's all I want

Since your name is GTA, I'll try to compare it to GTA IV.
Imagine GTA IV in which can you only do the main plot missions and nothing else. You still get to make the tough choices such as choosing between Playboy X or Dwayne, but you can't drive around freely or shoot pigeons.
The action sequences are QTE-based and are more like acting in choreographed fight scenes in a movie rather than playing traditional games.
I liked Heavy Rain because I'm a bit jaded by "traditional" console games, and I wanted to play a game that's more focused on plot than standard shooter or action mechanics. I also like the fact that it has no "Game Over".
The worst part of Heavy Rain for me are the glitches, as I stated below.
So to go back to the GTA reference:
If you preferred GTA IV because you thought it had a better plot then you might want to try Heavy Rain, but if you preferred GTA San Andreas because it had a greater diversity of vehicles, you might try something like Just
how can i download this new patch? Because when i insert my disc, there isn't any pop ups appering to download the new patch. The game disc continues to load to the main game screen
