EA has no plans to bring Mass Effect 1 to PS3

Earlier this morning, EA announced that they will be bringing Mass Effect 2 to the PS3 in January 2011. Many regard Mass Effect 2 as a vast improvement over the original game with the only only downside being the total lack of RPG elements that made the first game truly memorable. For those that have played both titles, they'll know that creating a strong bond with your character was an important aspect of the game and transferring your save file of the first game to the sequel opened up new doors for your Shepard character.

Unfortunately, EA has no plans to bring Mass Effect to the PS3. According to an EA rep, the company has no plans to bring the original title to the PS3. This will mean PS3-only owners will miss out of the original storyline and character development, but they'll be able to play the more action-oriented sequel. If you are one of those PS3 owners that will be investing in the sequel in January 2011, do you wish you could play the first game or are you satisfied enough with the chance to the play the series that it really doesn't make a difference at this point?
