According to the Copenhagen Post Online, a 28-year old Danish man was using WoW rewards to lure young boys into sending him nude pictures of themselves over the internet.
The prosecutors had about 10,000 illegal pictures and 1200 videos of naked young boys to use to help their case against him. The damning evidence was found at the time of arrest and they are unsure yet just how many of these underage boys are Danish. The boys ranged from 12 - 16 years old.
The man was charged with enticing 25 young men in sending nude pictures of themselves and, in some cases, performing sexual acts. The man had obtained a substantial amount of gold in World of Warcraft and was exchanging this gold for the photos and videos, some of which involved "live webcam videos of masturbation." The gold on WoW is used to purchase additional storage space in their personal bank storage , weaons, armor, goods, upgrades and spells.
The man used the World of Warcraft website and MSN Messenger to communicate with the young boys. The man admitted to receiving the photos and videos, but explained that he did not pressure the boys into sending him anything.
The ruling is set for Friday.
