It’s almost here: Halo: Reach. And to ensure that the excitement stays fresh, Microsoft has unveiled the director’s cut of the live-action trailer, “Deliver Hope.”
While essentially more Spartan running, more Spartan shooting, more Spartan dying, and more Covenant exploding, it is still no less amazing and captivating to watch. Which after viewing may further reiterate an increasingly common question amongst gamers: where is the Halo movie?
Regardless, this is a remarkable and visually arresting short, conveying the dire straits of planet Reach as it faces certain destruction from the Covenant as well as the overall tone we should expect for the upcoming game. For those paying attention to their Xbox 360 dashboards for the Halo: Reach countdown, you can look forward to the release of this tomorrow.
“Deliver Hope” was directed by Noam Murro, who also directed the equally impressive short “Birth of a Spartan,” as well as the film “Smart People” and numerous other shorts and commercials. And with the quality and care involved with the creation and execution of these shorts, Noam’s work is easily placed on par with, if not exceeds the stunning work director Neill Blomkamp did for the Halo 3 ad campaign in creating the short “Downfall.”
Halo: Reach launches September 14th. Be sure to visit your local Twin Cities video game retailer for launch events or to reserve your copy.
(Got a news tip? Do you have something to add? Why couldn’t Neill have made the Halo movie instead of District 9? Although District 9 was amazing! Leave a comment or e-mail me at minduster@gmail.com. Thanks!)
