Arcades near Detroit still exist

With technology progressing at the speed of light it was believed that the world had forgotten about the arcade. The arcade was the central gaming location before consoles took over offering multi player experiences exceeding 2 people. Today finding actual arcades and gaming facilities are difficult but here are a few for those gamers determined to socialize outside of the home and still enjoy the bells and whistles of the arcade.
Golf & Games is one of the few gaming homes that still offer actual standing machines and a wide assortment of new and old games to keep you busy. Golf & Games is also well known as the Butterfly, most commonly used by its patrons born in the 80’s, and can be found on Van Dyke south of 14 mile Rd., in Sterling Heights, MI. which is less than a 15 minute drive from Detroit.
Further north in Utica, MI. gamers can find the popular nation wide chain known as Dave and Busters which offer a great variety of interactive games such as skeet ball, basketball, water gun races, and a slew more. Dave & Busters also offers fine dining to its menu of attractions and is geared more towards the adult gamer wanting to enjoy their youth.
Gamecoland, in Livionia, MI., caters to the console gamer by providing multiple systems for a gamer to occupy and experience for a small fee. Recently they hosted a Halo ODST tournament, Saturday July 24, 2010, and have many events unfolding in the future.

Interesting article. This is a pretty good outing for children and young adults! Some still like to hear the tinkles/bells. I know my son and his friends do! This article is good for parents who did not know that you can still go to the arcade (as I was one of them) until my son told me different. Parents can always check them out first to get an impression of the place.
